StaceyRenee Designs: Behind the Curtains

Stacey Hyatt-Dixon, founder and CEO of StaceyRenee Designs, originated her brand to satisfy her desire to create luxurious yet affordable home decorations.

In 2003, she bought a house in Jersey City, New Jersey. She was excited to turn her house into a home, yet many of the decorations she found on the market did not speak to her style and those that did, were not for the frugal buyer. Stacey took matters into her own hands and enrolled in a sewing class and a business course with Rising Tide Capital. From there, StaceyRenee Designs was born.

Stacey immerses herself in the creative process of our products. She intentionally picks each fabric. “When I look at fabric, it’s a feeling: the velour, the suede, color, texture.” All these components of a fabric speak to her and she automatically knows the perfect choice.

This attention to detail is evident in StaceyRenee Designs’ new curtain line. The unique fabrics and designs are glamorous and exclusive. The beige and blue linen textured curtains offer a light filtering effect while the beige and silver curtains provide a blackout effect. These curtains were created by manufacturers; however, many of her other products including her pillows are hand sewn or machine sewn by Stacey herself and are well crafted to last years.

There are more curtain designs coming! In addition, she is working on a bedding line and home accessories such as placemats. Shop her curtain and exquisite pillows on MakerhoodsMarket.com.

Stacey shared that Makerhoods has supported her business in countless ways from providing the digital marketplace which greatly increased her sales to connecting her with vending opportunities and a community of Makers and artists!
