Nyah Beauty: In With the New
“Ever since childhood, making things by hand was what I loved. Out of a need for a creative outlet while working in banking, soapmaking became a fun way to make something we use every day in awesome scents, colors and shapes. After crafting my first few batches of soap, it was my mother’s request after using my soaps to make her more because the soap didn’t irritate her skin after bathing. Soap became the creative medium in which Nyah was started.”
After years of success, Nyah Beauty continues to uphold the highest standard of natural skincare. Check out what she has in store for 2022!
What are your inspirations behind your brand and what motivates you to keep going?
Entrepreneurship and having a successful business has always been a part of me. It was meant for me. At first, I didn’t recognize it, but I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit. I am the first female entrepreneur in my family and I am truly inspired by happiness. I can genuinely say that I am happy doing what I do.I love working with my hands and I have always been creative.
What is in store for Nyah Beauty for the upcoming year of 2022?
We're definitely looking forward to growth and expansion. I want to invest in Nyah Beauty by purchasing more machinery. This will help us increase our production capabilities to meet our growing demand with private label customers.
I am also most motivated when I am around like-minded people and other entrepreneurs. It keeps me grounded, especially in those moments when I feel like giving up. When you surround yourself around individuals who have the same aspirations and drive as yourself, they motivate you to always keep going. If you stop, you will never know what you could have achieved. Things that I would never have thought of happening are happening with my business and my goals are being met everyday.
What are the new goals that you look forward to reaching?
Hiring and expanding Nyah Beauty are my top priorities for the future. It will help my brand grow because it will give me the ability to be less hands on and dive into the operations of the business.
Are there any new products that we can look forward to?
My bath bombs have been extremely successful in private label so I have decided to introduce them on the Nyah Beauty marketplace. I also look forward to releasing my shower steamers which will enhance the aroma while you shower. I currently have a peppermint scented shower steamer that is great for your respiratory system. It’s very spa-like. Nyah Beauty will also be introducing soap dishes. They are extremely unique because they come all the way from Ghana!
What is the most rewarding aspect of hosting classes?
I get to meet so many great people and my customers are able to network and build relationships. It’s so exciting to be opening back up since COVID. Interacting with others outside social media is always amazing. My classes allow people to unplug, meet new people, and show off their creativity. We have a slightly larger space than before so I am able to welcome more people.
What impact do you want to leave on a community by hosting events like Make with Makerhoods: Handmade Body Butter and Lip Balm & Make with Makerhoods: Melt and Pour?
I always want people to learn something new and spend time with their loved ones. Creating memories is so important. We had such a great time at Make with Makerhoods: Melt & Pour! It feels good to see people having fun and unwinding from the world around us. I look forward to making memories and meeting genuine relationships at the Make with Makerhoods: Handmade Body Butter and Lip Balm.
